Education
Education and training are the future of forestry. Our founding industry grew from a commitment to hard work, innovation and sustainability, based on a deep-rooted appreciation for British Columbia’s natural beauty. At the grassroots level the ILA works to dispel misinformation and educate children and youth about the importance of forestry so they grow up understanding what goes on in the sector at home in their communities—in their our back yards. Our forests are renewable so logging is known as the greenest workforce, offering well-paying jobs in an outdoor ‘office’. Our job is to make sure young people know there’s a rapidly growing need for skilled workers in the industry and that the trees are their answer.
